- 4oz dried apricots shopping list
- 2tblsp demerara sugar shopping list
- 1/4 pint of water juice of 1/2 lemon shopping list
- PASTRY shopping list
- 60z self raising flour shopping list
- 20z fine semolina shopping list
- 40z butter shopping list
- 1oz caster sugar (I use ordinary) shopping list
- around a tblsp cold water milk to glaze shopping list
How to make it
- snip dried apricots into small pieces cover with water and bring to boil drain putback inot pan demerara sugar and 1/4 pt water and lemon juice
- simmer gently until thick and syrupy leave to cool.
- sift flour and semolina and rub in butter add sugar
- mix to a firm dough with water knead lightly on floured board ( don't worry about the pastry crumbling a bit)
- roll pastry out into two rectangles
- put one piece on a greased baking sheet spread with apricot mixture leaving an inch around the sides
- wet the sides with water and place other pastry on top
- press edges to seal brush with milk
- baake towards the top of the oven 200c/400f gas 6 for 20 minutescut into squares serve hot
