Ingredients
  • Boil 5 minutes and cool:
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 2 Cups Raisins
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons shortening
  • Add:
  • 1 Tablespoon Molasses
  • Sift:
  • 1 teaspoon Soda
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • Add to above.Mix and bake in 8" square pan at 350F for 35 minutes or until toothpick test.
