  • Filling
  • 5 cups thinly sliced peeled fresh apples(about 6 medium)
  • 1-1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 3 Tbsp frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  • Topping
  • 3 Tbsp toasted wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 3 Tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp frozen apple juice concentrate ,thawed

Directions
  1. for fruit filling, toss the apples with the cornstarch.
  2. add the raisins and juice concentrate, and toss to mix.
  3. place the mixture in a 9 inch deep dish pie pan
  4. for the topping, combine the topping ingredients and mix until moist and crumbly. sprinkle the topping over fruit
  5. bake uncovered at 375f for 25 minutes
  6. cover the dish loosely with foil to prevent overbrowning, and continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
