Sandwhich Cubano Recipe

Ingredients

Cuban Bread / French Bread

Sliced sweet cured ham

Roasted Pork

Pickles (I hate pickle cucumber and use pickled carrots instead)

Swiss Cheese (or another strong flavored white cheese)

Directions

Slice a 12" section of cuban bread and cut it horizontally so you have 2 open face slices. (like making a sub)

Spread a small amount of mustard on the slices (Cuban sandwiches never have mayonnaise on them)

Layer the cheese, pickles, shredded pork and thin sliced ham on a slice of the sandwich.

Put the top on

Butter the outside of the bread

In a skillet heat the sandwich, and press another skillet on top (cast iron works well, you could also use a brick wrapped in foil)

When one side is pretty cooked, flip the sandwhich and cook the other.

After the sandwhich is mashed down and the cheese melted you cut it into wedges, and then eat.
