Ingredients

How to make it

  • Slice a 12" section of cuban bread and cut it horizontally so you have 2 open face slices. (like making a sub)
  • Spread a small amount of mustard on the slices (Cuban sandwiches never have mayonnaise on them)
  • Layer the cheese, pickles, shredded pork and thin sliced ham on a slice of the sandwich.
  • Put the top on
  • Butter the outside of the bread
  • In a skillet heat the sandwich, and press another skillet on top (cast iron works well, you could also use a brick wrapped in foil)
  • When one side is pretty cooked, flip the sandwhich and cook the other.
  • After the sandwhich is mashed down and the cheese melted you cut it into wedges, and then eat.

Sounds good, I had the best Cuban sandwhich at The Hyatt in Lexington KY while on Business and I have been craving ever since! Thanks :)
