Cranberry Orange Yeast Bread

- 1 pkg. dried cranberries, chopped shopping list
- 2-3 T orange extract shopping list
- 2 c milk, scalded shopping list
- ¼ c warm water (about 95 degrees) shopping list
- 2 T yeast (or 2 pkgs) shopping list
- 2 T sugar shopping list
- 2 t salt shopping list
- ½ c cinnamon sugar shopping list
- 2-3 c white flour shopping list
- 2 c whole wheat flour shopping list
- additional cinnamon sugar shopping list
How to make it
- After chopping cranberries, put in a bowl and pour orange extract over them. Stir and let sit awhile. Scald milk and allow to cool. Measure warm water and add yeast, sugar and salt. Stir and let rest 5-10 minutes. In a large mixing bowl, mix together cooled milk, yeast mixture, cranberries, ½ c cinnamon sugar, and 2 cups each of white flour and whole wheat flour. Add additional flour as needed until dough moves away from the sides of the bowl. Remove dough from the bowl. Knead a few minutes and place in a greased bowl to rise in a warm area. Allow to rise about one hour-one hour and a half. Punch down dough and divide into. Roll each piece into a long strip. Sprinkle each strip with additional cinnamon sugar. Roll up loaf and place in greased loaf pan. Cover loaves and allow to rise about an hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
