Fresh Skillet Creamed Field Corn

- 12 ears of fresh field corn shucked and silked shopping list
- 2 cups of water shopping list
- 1/2 a stick of butter shopping list
- 6 slices of bacon chopped (your going to crumble this later) shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- shuck and clean corn
- cut corn off the ears (i just skin the tops off the kernels with a sharp knife you dont want to cut the whole kernel off or you can use a corn cutter) scrape down the ears to get the liquid .conbine cut corn with the liquid and set aside .
- in a large cast iron skillet fry the bacon until crisp and set aside.
- leave the bacon drippings in the skillet
- turn heat to med and add the corn stirring frequently so it wont stick.
- as the corn starts to swell add water a little at a time as needed.
- contiune cooking over low heat for 30 minutes .
- it may take more than 2 cups of water depending on the starch level of the corn you want it creamy.
- after 30 minutes add te butter and crumbled up bacon to the corn
- salt and pepper to taste.
- serve and enjoy
