This dish is simple to prepare and is very tasty. Serve it with custard or ice-cream - - delicious!

Ingredients
  • 50g margarine
  • 50g castor sugar
  • 75g self-raising flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Apples:
  • 2 large cooking apples
  • 1 heaped tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp mixed spice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsps water

Directions
  1. Cook apples in a saucepan over very low heat.
  2. Combine "fairie" ingredients in a mixer.
  3. Mash the apples with a potato masher and place in a casserole dish.
  4. Spoon "fairie" mixture onto the top.
  5. Place in a pre-heated oven at 200C degrees for about 25 mins.
  6. If "fairie" mixture is not cooked through, place aluminium foil on top and cook for a further 15 mins or so.
  7. Serve:
  8. With custard or ice-cream of choice.
