How to make it

  • Put sugar and vinegar in small saucepan.
  • Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
  • Boil 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in chosen herb.
  • Refrigerate until cool.
  • Combine with cabbage (and optional ingredients, if desired). This gets better when allowed to rest several hours, but it's ready to eat after an hour.
