How to make it

  • In a large skillet,brown ground beef and sausage over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain.
  • Place meat in a crock pot/slow cooker 4 quarts or larger.
  • Add pasta sauce,garlic, and red pepper. Stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours.
  • In a large mixing bowl,combine eggs,parsley,cottage cheese,ricotta,and parmesean. In a separate bowl,combine mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
  • Spread 1 cup of meat sauce onto the bottom of an ungreased 9" x 13" x 2" baking dish or a lasagna pan.
  • Layer with 3 noodles,provolone cheese, 2 cups cottage cheese mixture,and 1 1/2 cups mozzarella mixture
  • Continue layering with 3 noodles,2 cups meat sauce,.remaining cottage cheese mixture,1 1/2 cups mozzarella mixture.
  • Top with remaining 3 noodles,remaining meat sauce,and remaining mozzarella cheese mixture. Dish will be full and heavy.
  • Cover with foil. Place dish onto larger cookie sheet if desired to catch any runoff while baking.
  • Bake covered at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  • Let lasagna stand for 15 minutes before cutting.
  • Serve with salad and garlic bread.

    yes I like this, but please!! can we use a tomato sauce, so easy, chop fine 1 lge onion, crush 3-4 clove garlic cook without colour in olive oil, add bay leaf and chop fresh oregano, 1 tin chopped tomato, 2 tbs tomato puree, salt & pepper, 10-15 mins this is ready for use, to use alone cook 35-40 mins v,slow, finish with fresh basil and parsley.
