Cranberry Pear Pie Recipe
CRANBERRY PEAR PIE This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Harrelson Estate in Detroit, Michigan in 1984.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups pared sliced fresh pears
  • Pastry for two crust pie

Directions
  1. Combine cranberries and water in saucepan and bring to a boil then simmer 3 minutes.
  2. Mix sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon.
  3. Add to cranberries and cook quickly stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and gently stir in pears and turn into pie plate.
  5. Top with other crust preferably cut into strips as a lattice topping.
  6. Bake in preheated 400 oven for 35 minutes.
