Asparagus With Black Beans And Beef

- 1/2 pound beef sliced shopping list
- 1 pound asparagus shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in 2 teaspoons water shopping list
- 1 tablespoon Chinese fermented black beans minced with 4 garlic cloves shopping list
- 1 teaspoon rice wine shopping list
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce shopping list
- peanut oil shopping list
- marinade for Beef: shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch shopping list
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon rice wine shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- gravy Mixture: shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch shopping list
- 1/3 cup water shopping list
How to make it
- Cut beef when it is partially frozen and cut it across grain into thin slices.
- Stir baking soda solution into beef then stir in marinade.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon peanut oil and marinate beef for one hour or more in the refrigerator.
- Heat 1 tablespoon peanut oil over high heat then add 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Stir in asparagus then add 1/4 cup water and cover pan for 2 minutes without lifting lid.
- When done remove to a platter.
- Over high heat add 1 tablespoon oil then stir rinsed black beans and garlic mixture.
- Stir for a few seconds then add beef and stir fry quickly until barely done.
- Sizzle in 1 tablespoon rice wine and 2 teaspoons soy sauce then stir in asparagus.
- Add gravy mixture and stir until thickened then serve hot.
