Easy Mushroom SoupGravy Recipe
A quick and easy mushroom soup that can easily be thickened and used as a gravy. Great on a cold day with crusty bread.

Ingredients
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz button mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 2 cans of chicken broth(I use reduced sodium)
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Directions
  1. Sautee onions in 1tbsp of butter on medium heat for 2 minutes. Add mushrooms and garlic. Cook until mushrooms are browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
  2. Add 3 tbsp of butter to same pan. When melted, begin adding flour. Cook for 1-2 minutes, then add chicken broth and whisk until thoroughly combined.
  3. Stir mushroom and onion mixture into liquid. Season to taste.
  4. This recipe is very basic and easy to customize. You can use any kind of mushroom you like. If you want a thicker gravy, add 6 tbsp flour. It's really easy to play around with.
