I have been trying to find a recipe for soft, tasty bread for my bread machine. My family says I got it right this time!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple sauce
  • 1 tbs. butter, softened
  • 1 cup white or bread machine flour
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1 tbsp. powdered milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. active dry yeast

Directions
  1. add ingredients according to bread maker directions
  2. I set mine to whole wheat, 2 lb. loaf, and I have a "light, med, dark" setting. I chose light and it came out perfect!
  3. If you don't have a 2 lb. capacity, you will have to do some math to cut it down a bit.
