Soft And Moist Toll House Cookies Recipe
This recipe is from a very old Betty Crocker cook book. Throughout the years I have made many changes to it. These cookies are wonderful!

Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Add egg and vanilla, continuing to beat the mixture until smooth.
  3. When the mixture is smooth, add the rest of the ingredients to the mixing bowl and stir them well. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2” apart on an un--greased baking sheet.
  4. Bake until delicately browned (8 to 10 minutes). The cookies should still be soft. Cool them slightly before removing them from the baking sheet.
