Blackberry Jam

- 1 kg blackberries shopping list
- juice of 1 lemon shopping list
- 1 kg sugar shopping list
- 1 knob of butter shopping list
- 125ml pectin water shopping list
How to make it
- Gently simmer berries and lemon juice for approx 30 mins until very soft.
- Remove from the heat.
- Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Add the butter.
- Boil rapidly for 4-5 mins.
- Add the pectin.
- Remove the scum and cool slightly.
- Sieve to remove the pips.
- If you want seeded jam, you can add some of the pips back in at this point.
- Pot in warms jars (to prevent cracking).
