3 Hole Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 Hole Chocolate Cake
  • 3 c flour
  • 2 c sugar
  • 3 1/2 tb cocoa
  • 2 ts baking soda
  • 2 ts salt
  • 2 ts vanilla
  • 2 tb vinegar
  • 2/3 c vegetable oil
  • 2 c water
  • Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, soda and salt together. Put in oblong cake pan,
  • make 3 holes and add the liquid ingredients and mix with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees, takes a little longer than other cakes.

I love soda rise cakes. It is fun to make things the old ways. I am grateful to have a gas oven, though, instead of an old wood cookstove like we had when I was a kid!
