How to make it

  • Halve squashes lengthwise, remove seeds and membranes.
  • Placed cut sides down in shallow 15/10 inch pan. Add water.
  • Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until tender, about 1 hour.
  • Drain water from pan.
  • Carefully scoop pulp from squashes, leaving sturdy shells; reserve shells.
  • Mash pulp and mix well with pork, cheese, celery, margarine, onion, brown sugar, salt, mustard and pepper.
  • Fill shells.
  • Sprinkle with crumb topping and bake in same pan at 350 over until hot and crumbs are lightly browned; about 30 minutes.
