How to make it

  • 1.Wash the tomatoes. Blanch with warm water to take out the skin .Discard the seed portion and chop in to medium sized pieces.
  • 2.Heat oil in pan and temper with mustard seed an dry chilli.
  • 3.When it gets fried add the cut tomatoes. Fry for some time. When it turns soft add salt, turmeric powder mix it thoroughly & fry for 1 min and add cumin powder, coriander powder, cinnamon powder and the bay leaf.
  • 4.Add sugar and mix it and let it cook for some time. If you want it to make too saucy then add sugar ( you can adjust the sweetness according to your taste bud) in to 1 cup hot water and add it to the cooked tomato and cook for 5 mins till pulp is fully cooked.
  • 5.Turn off the gas
  • 6.Before serving take out the bay leaf and the red chilli.
  • 7.It can be taken with Rice, roti and even as spread in breads!!
