Yummy Chocolate Cake

When my son is coming home from college. I always have this waiting for him. This was my Granny's recipe and I loved it growing up.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
- 1 cup shortening shopping list
- 3 tablespoons cocoa shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1/2 cup buttermilk or sour milk shopping list
- 2 eggs beaten shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- miniature marshmallows shopping list
- icing Recipe below shopping list
- 1 stick margarine shopping list
- 1/2 cup cocoa shopping list
- 6 tablespoons milk shopping list
- 1 box powdered sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans shopping list
How to make it
- In large mixing bowl
- combine sugar,flour,baking soda and cinnamon.
- Mix thoroughly
- Set aside
- In medium saucepan,combine butter,cocoa and water.
- Bring to a rapid boil.
- Pour over dry ingredients
- Add buttermilk,eggsand vanilla
- Pour into a 15-1/2x 10-1/2x1-inch pan
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Bake for 20 minutes
- Remove from oven and add enough miniature marshmallows on top to cover before adding icing,so marshmallows melt.
- ICING Instructions below:
- Melt butter
- add cocoa,milk,sugar,vanilla and pecans
- mix very well.
- Spread over top of marshmallow layer. Very Rich!!
