CAKE FIT FOR A QUEEN This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Almond Estate in Grand Prairie, Texas in 1992.
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour shopping list
- 3 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup molasses shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 teaspoon allspice shopping list
- 1 teaspoon mace shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cloves shopping list
- 1 cup fresh milk shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups icing sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring shopping list
- 2 teaspoons butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup fresh milk shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all cake ingredients together then spoon into large covered baking dish.
- Bake at 300 for 3 hours then after 2-1/2 hours take cover off.
- Allow to cool overnight night then frost and serve.
- To make frosting combine icing sugar, almond flavoring, butter and milk then mix well.
