How to make it

  • Beat the egg whites and 1/4 teaspoon salt until foamy . . . Add the teaspoon of vanilla and beat a little more . . . Eggs should be at soft peak stage . . . Add 2/3 cup of sugar a teaspoon at a time . . . Beat well after each addition so sugar will dissolve . . . Eggs should be very stiff when all sugar has been used . . . Add pecans and chocolate morsels . . . Drop by teaspoons full onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • (Foil covered.)
  • Put the cookies into oven and turn oven off immediately . . . Just forget cookies until oven is cold . . . they may be left overnight.
  • Yield: 3 dozen.

    These sound really good! But what do we do with the tsp. of salt...the directions only mention 1/4 tsp.
