I am currently using Cafe' Bustelo found in the mexican isle. I've also previously used starbucks Guatamala Antigua or eight o'clock regular whole bean. Grind them yourself at the finest grind. this recipe makes enough to fill a large thermos and one 16oz to-go cup for one. Ingredients
- 5 level standard coffee scoops turkish or expresso ground caffienated coffee such as Cafe' Bustelo shopping list
- 6 cups cold water shopping list
How to make it
- On stovetop heat cold water to a boil in a large stainless steel (not aluminum) kettle.
- Meanwhile, line the top part of an eight cup carafe style coffee pot with a cone filter(may substitute with a drip type machine filter).
- measure and place the ground coffee into the filter.
- After the water reaches a full rolling boil slowly pour over the grounds in the filter just enough to initially soak them taking care not to over-flow the top of the filter.
- every minute or so add the remaining boiled water taking care not to allow the hot coffee to over-flow the carafe.
