How to make it

  • On stovetop heat cold water to a boil in a large stainless steel (not aluminum) kettle.
  • Meanwhile, line the top part of an eight cup carafe style coffee pot with a cone filter(may substitute with a drip type machine filter).
  • measure and place the ground coffee into the filter.
  • After the water reaches a full rolling boil slowly pour over the grounds in the filter just enough to initially soak them taking care not to over-flow the top of the filter.
  • every minute or so add the remaining boiled water taking care not to allow the hot coffee to over-flow the carafe.
