Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a small saucepan, pour in water and add raisins. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Drain raisins, reserving 6 Tbsp. juice from raisins. Set aside and cool.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, and both sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, salt and apple pie spice. Stir baking soda into reserved raisin juice; add to creamed mixture. Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in oats, walnuts and raisins. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350*. Grease cookie sheets. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets and place 2" apart. Bake for 10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on cookie sheets 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to completely cool.

Cherylann, love these cookies! This is a fabulous recipe! This is the same recipe that I use with the exception of the raisins. I add golden raisins without bringing them to a boil. Love "your way" with the raisins! We love oatmeal cookies. Again, this recipe is wonderful, wonderful!! Can hardly wait to make them! :)
