Swirled Mint Cookies Recipe
These are so pretty and so great in taste. Looks very pretty on the holiday cookie trays. A little effort is required but the oohs and aahs make it all worthwhile. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 10 drops ed food coloring
  • 10 drops green food coloring

Directions
  1. Combine flour and baking powder then beat butter until softened.
  2. Add sugar and beat until fluffy the add egg and extracts and beat again.
  3. Add flour mixture and beat until well mixed.
  4. Divide dough into thirds then stir red food coloring into one third green into another.
  5. Leave third batch plan then cover each and chill one hour.
  6. Roll each color into 1/2" diameter ropes then using one rope of each color and twist together.
  7. Slice twisted ropes into 1/4" pieces then place slices 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. Flatten to 1/4" thickness with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
  9. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes then remove and cool on racks.
