this is a simple cheap alternative t the typical sweet potato dishes we see at thanksgiving.

Ingredients
  • 4 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into about a half inch cubes
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 6 tablespoons of maple syrup

Directions
  1. boil the sweet potatoes in a large pot until they are fork tender, about twenty minutes.
  2. strain, return to the pot and add the butter.
  3. mash to desired consistency and then stir in the maple syrup.
  4. serve immediately.
