How to make it

  • Using a mortar and pestle pound garlic, salt, oregano and black pepper to a paste.
  • Blend in 1 tablespoon of the olive oil then rub mixture on both sides of each tuna steak.
  • Lay steaks in baking dish then drizzle with 1/4 cup of the remaining oil then tuck in bay leaves.
  • Cover and marinate in refrigerator 24 hours.
  • When ready to cook heat remaining olive oil in large heavy skillet over high heat for 3 minutes.
  • Add tuna and brown 3 minutes on each side keeping the heat high then serve hot.

    I'm giving this 5 forks and I haven't even tried it yet. But it looks so good, and it's so easy I can't even mess it up. I'm off to the kitchen right now to make up the marinade.

    This, combined with quinoa as a side dish will be my dinner tonight!!
