Candied Yams Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6-8 Sweet Potatoes
  • 1 Box Brown Sugar
  • 1 Jar Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 cube sweet butter per pan full
  • Cinnamon

Directions
  1. Peel and cut the potatoes to 1/2 inch thick
  2. Boil until slightly tender
  3. Drain
  4. Melt butter in large sauce pan
  5. Apply cinnamon to both sides of yams, cook for 5-8 minutes both sides on medium heat
  6. Sprinkle about 1 1/2 cups brown sugar over yams and pour a minimal amount of syrup over the yams.
  7. (Careful too much syrup will harden the yams)
  8. Cook for another 8-10 minutes both sides
  9. Apply brown sugar as needed
  10. Remove from heat and pour entire contents into baking dish
  11. Cook in oven for 20 minutes at 325 degress
  12. Serve warm
