Ingredients
  • 1/2 kilo Chicken (can be "choice cut parts" e.g. all wings or thighs,etc. available in supermarkets)
  • 5 Cloves Garlic, Crashed and chopped
  • 1 Medium Onion, Sliced
  • Ginger, Peeled, sliced about 2 Tbs
  • 1 Cup Green Papaya or Sayote, Sliced diagonally about 1 inch thick
  • 1 Cup Malunggay Leaves (Chili leaves as alternative)
  • Small bunch of lemon grass (Tanglad)
  • 5 Cups Water
  • 4 Tbs oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Clean and wash chicken,set aside
  2. Over medium heat, sautee onions,garlic and ginger using a medium saucepan or pot
  3. Add chicken pieces and sautee until the mixture emits a crisp garlicky-gingery aroma
  4. Add water to the mixture,bring to a boil until chicken becomes tender
  5. Add green papaya or sayote until cooked
  6. Add Chili or Malunggay leaves and cook for about a minute or till cooked
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste
  8. Note : For a more flavourful soup (sabaw), you can add during boiling a small bunch of lemon grass and remove it before serving.
