My sister-in-law made this for me after my lung surgery last February. It was warm and wonderful.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs. hamburger, browned and drained
  • 1 16 oz. bag frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 46 oz. can tomato juice
  • 1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 pkg. dried onion soup mix
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 heaping tablespoon sugar

Directions
  1. In large pot, brown hamburger, drain. Add rest of ingredients and simmer for about an hour. Serve with crusty bread.
