Robust Strawberry Apple Streusel Recipe
ROBUST STRAWBERRY APPLE STREUSEL This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Pfeiffer Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1986.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1-1/4 pounds sliced and peeled apples
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries thawed
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Directions
  1. Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon and stir until well combined.
  2. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  3. Cut 4 squares of parchment paper then fold each square in half and open each.
  4. Place 1 cup apple near fold then sprinkle sugar mixture evenly over apple.
  5. Top with berries then drizzle syrup evenly over fruit.
  6. Fold paper and seal edges with narrow folds then place packets on baking sheets.
  7. Bake at 425 for 8 minutes.
