How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 450ºF.
  • Place fish in a greased baking dish and sprinkle with salt.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, to make sauce, melt butter in a saute pan.
  • Add mushrooms and simmer 10-15 minutes.
  • Add the sour cream and simmer 15 more minutes.
  • Do not allow to boil. Pour sauce over halbut in baking dish and add wine.
  • Reduce heat to 375ºF and bake for 45 more minutes.
  • For added flavor to your baked halibut recipe, shake flakes of butter over fillets when cooking completes.
