Wilted Salad

One of my favorite recipes. Got it from a recipe book.
Ingredients
- 1 head red leaf lettuce shopping list
- 2 strips bacon shopping list
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional) shopping list
- 1/2 avocado (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Wash lettuce, pat dry and tear into pieces. Put in heatproof bowl for later.
- Cook bacon until crisp. Drain thoroughly, leave drippings in pan.
- Mix vinegar and sugar with bacon drippings.
- If using avocado, peel and cube.
- Heat vinegar and drippings to just below boiling.
- Pour dressing over lettuce and toss.
- Crumble bacon over salad and add avocado.
- Toss again and serve.
- Enjoy!
