Ingredients
  • Double crust recipe your favorite plus cinnamon
  • filling
  • 8 large cooking pears (peeled and sliced)
  • lemon zest from one med lemon and half the juice
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar ( or to taste depends on the pears)
  • 1 heaping Tbls cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp allspice

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. make pie crust roll out bottom crust
  3. peel and slice pears (add one apple if you'd like)
  4. add flour, zest and half the lemon juiced
  5. add spices toss till pears are covered
  6. roll out top crust
  7. arrange pears in pie and top with crust
  8. put some vent holes in top
  9. bake for 45 to 50 min.
