Asian Pear And Watercress Salad With Sesame Dressing Recipe
ASIAN PEAR AND WATERCRESS SALAD WITH SESAME DRESSING This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Marlin Estate in Heath, Texas in 1998.

Ingredients
  • 1/2" thick slice peeled fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup Asian sesame paste
  • 3 tablespoons Asian sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon Asian chili paste with garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Salad:
  • 2 medium Asian pears
  • 4 cups trimmed watercress sprigs
  • 1 carrot finely shredded

Directions
  1. Blend all dressing ingredients in a blender until smooth.
  2. Peel pear and cut into julienne strips then transfer to a bowl.
  3. Combine watercress and pear in a bowl then season with salt and pepper and toss gently.
  4. Divide among plates then drizzle with some dressing and sprinkle with carrot.
