Marble Loaf Cake

- 1-3/4 cup sifted all purpose flour shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 2-3/4 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1-1/2 squares chocolate melted shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
- 3 egg whites unbeaten shopping list
- 1/3 cup shortening shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk shopping list
- 1 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 stick oleo shopping list
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- Sift dry ingredients together in bowl then add shortening and 1/2 cup milk.
- Beat 2 minutes with electric mixer.
- Add remaining milk, vanilla and egg whites then beat two more minutes.
- Divide batter in half and add melted chocolate to 1/2 of the mixture and blend.
- Spoon batter alternately in pan greased and lined with waxed paper.
- Cut batter threw in zig zag pattern with knife for marble effect.
- Bake at 375 for 55 60 minutes then remove from pan and cool on rack.
- Frost with chocolate frosting.
- For frosting combine milk, sugar and oleo in saucepan and cook 2 minutes.
- After mixture begins to bubble remove from heat and stir in chips then beat until melted.
- Cool completely then spread over cake.
