Ingredients

1 cup Italian sausage

2 cups chicken

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped green pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 tablespoon butter

4 ounces canned mushrooms drained

1 can cream of chicken soup

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon basil

1-1/2 cups cottage cheese

2 cups grated pepper jack cheese

1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Directions

Sauté sausage, chicken, onion, and green pepper in butter. Mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder and cayenne and sprinkle over chicken and sausage mixture. Add mushrooms, soup, milk and basil and mix well. . In a rectangular casserole dish, layer 1/2 of the noodles, 1/2 of the chicken mixture and 1/2 of the cheeses then repeat layers. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
