NO BAKE OATMEAL FUDGE COOKIES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Boone Estate in Midlothian, Texas in 1992.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
  1. Combine oats, vanilla and nuts in a bowl then set aside.
  2. Combine sugar, cocoa and evaporated milk in a heavy saucepan.
  3. Bring to a full rolling boil over medium high heat stirring constantly.
  4. Let boil while stirring for 2 minutes then remove pan from heat and add butter.
  5. Stir until butter is melted then quickly add oat mixture to pan and stir until well mixed.
  6. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper then allow to cool 2 hours to set.
