KETCHUP WITH A KICK This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Greene Estate in Mesquite, Texas in 1991.

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions
  1. Combine cornstarch and water then set aside.
  2. Place all remaining ingredients in blender and blend on high speed for 20 seconds.
  3. Simmer gently for twenty minutes stirring several times.
  4. After twenty minutes add corn starch mixture and stir well.
  5. When sauce begins to thicken allow to simmer on a very low temperature for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool then store in covered container in the refrigerator.
