Currant Cookies

- 4 cups flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 tbsp. baking powder shopping list
- 3/4 tsp. ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 cup vegetable shortening shopping list
- 1/4 cup milk shopping list
- 3 large eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1 cup dried currants shopping list
How to make it
- In large bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt; mix well. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until crumbly.
- Add enough milk to beaten eggs to measure 1 cup. Stir into flour mixture. Stir in currants. Cover; chill for 1 hour.
- Preheat griddle to 350°F. Lightly oil griddle.
- On lightly floured surface, roll dough out to 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutter.
- Cook on griddle 3 minutes per side or until golden.
