Rock Candy

This is a recipe for rock candy. We used to buy this back when I was growing up at school during the spring carnival festival. Kids would bring this to school to sell to raise money for the event.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup corn syrup shopping list
- 1/2 cup of water shopping list
- food coloring shopping list
- flavoring of your choice shopping list
- muffin tin liners shopping list
How to make it
- Add sugar, corn syrup, water and your food coloring (your choice of color) in a heavy saucepan ( I use a medium sized pressure cooker without the lid)
- Stir all together over medium high heat until it starts to boil
- Keep stirring and don't let it scorch
- Test a spoon full of the mixture by adding it to a cup of cold water
- When it forms a hard strand in the water it will be ready
- At that time add your choice of flavoring to the candy
- Then pour into lined muffin cups and wait for it to set
- Enjoy!
