Ingredients
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 14.5 ounce cans stewed tomatoes
  • 1 pound linguini, uncooked
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Directions
  1. Cook diced bacon in a large saucepan over medium high heat until crisp, about 5 minutes.
  2. Drain all but 2 tablespoons of drippings from pan.
  3. Add onions and cook over medium heat about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Add canned tomatoes, undrained.
  6. Simmer for 10 minutes, breaking up tomatoes.
  7. Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water to al dente. Drain.
  8. Stir basil into the sauce and then toss with the cooked pasta.
  9. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
