Inside Barbequed Beef Short Ribs Recipe
INSIDE OUT BARBEQUED BEEF SHORT RIBS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Weinberg Estate in Allen, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 24 ounces beer
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 4 pounds beef chuck short ribs
  • 8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  1. In large saucepan combine beer and brown sugar then bring to a boil.
  2. Add ribs and return to a boil then reduce to a simmer.
  3. Cover and cook turning ribs occasionally for 50 minutes then preheat grill.
  4. Combine tomato sauce, onion, vinegar, Worcestershire, cinnamon, cloves and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil then place ribs on grill and brush ribs with sauce.
  6. Grill over low heat brushing with sauce and turning occasionally about 15 minutes.
  7. Bring any remaining sauce to a boil before serving with ribs.
