Gooseberry Cobbler

- 2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2/3 cup butter flavored shortening shopping list
- 3 tablespoons ice water shopping list
- 32 ounces frozen gooseberries thawed shopping list
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons flour shopping list
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice shopping list
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter shopping list
How to make it
- Combine flour and salt then cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle water over mixture and stir with fork then shape dough into ball.
- Combine berries, sugar, flour and lemon juice and stir well then set aside.
- Divide dough in half.
- Roll half of dough to 1/8" thickness and place in lightly greased rectangular baking dish.
- Spoon berry mixture over pastry and dot with butter.
- Roll remaining half of dough to fit top of cobbler and place over berry mixture.
- Make slits in dough or cut into strips and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
