Ingredients
  • 2 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup jalapeno pepper, chopped
  • 8 oz. flaked tuna in water, drained
  • 14 oz. prepared pizza dough
  • olive oil

Directions
  1. Cook tomato, red pepper flakes, black pepper, salt and sugar in 2 tbsp olive oil over low heat for 30 minutes. Set aside and cool.
  2. Over medium heat cook onions in 1/4 cup olive oil until golden.
  3. Process tomato mixture in a blender until smooth.
  4. Mix onion, jalapeno pepper, and tuna into the tomato blend.
  5. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  6. Divide dough in half. Roll/stretch each sheet to a rectangle 8" by 11".
  7. Place one sheet onto a baking sheet. Spread filling over sheet leaving a generous 1/2" uncovered around the edges.
  8. Place top sheet over the filling and pinch/fold the edges, sealing well.
  9. Coat the top of the calzone with 1 tsp olive oil.
  10. Bake 20 minutes.
  11. Remove from oven and cool 10 minutes.
  12. Serve with a tangy yogurt, like Balkan-style yogurt.
