How to make it

  • Peel turnips and cut into 3/4-inch dice.
  • Melt butter in a saute pan large enough to hold the turnips in one layer.
  • Over medium high heat, roll them around in the butter, then sprinkle on sugar.
  • Turn heat to low, cover, and let simmer, stirring occasionally.
