Marinara Sauce Recipe

Marinara Sauce Recipe
We all usually have canned tomatoes on hand, and this is great for those; I also use fresh tomatoes that are getting close to their 'throw out' time. Why waste them?

Ingredients
  • 2 T Olive Oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, pulsed in food processor (or very finely minced by hand)
  • 2 Large cans (28oz) of your favorite tomatoes (do not drain)
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Simmer your garlic in olive oil in a medium-heat saucepan
  2. Add canned tomatoes (or equivalent amount of fresh, chopped tomatoes)
  3. Season with salt & pepper (I also add about a tablespoon of Italian Spice mix)
  4. Bring up to a nice simmer, stirring as needed
  5. Let it simmer for about 15 or 20 minutes (longer for a deeper, richer flavor if you're using dried Italian spice mix)
  6. (I like to freeze this in 'sandwich size' ziploc bags, which winds up making about 2 adult servings a piece)
