Swiss Steak Recipe

Swiss Steak Recipe
This recipe comes from Peg Bracken's "I Hate To Cook Book". In my opinion it's about the only decent recipe in the book, but my mother still swears by it. All recipes are dead easy to prepare.

Ingredients
  • Well marbled pot roast
  • 1 packet Lipton's onion or beefy onion soup

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 225
  2. In a baking pan, put a large sheet of aluminum foil. Make sure to use a quality brand of foil as the knock-offs tend to rip if you look at them too hard.
  3. Place pot roast on aluminum foil and sprinkle packet of soup.
  4. Tent the foil and make sure that it is completely sealed.
  5. Put the pan in the oven and leave it for a minimum of 4 hours but no more than 8 hours.
  6. The meat will be so tender you may have problems getting it onto plates. You will also have a great jus that you can spoon onto the beef.
