Mashed Turnips

- 1.5 lbs turnips shopping list
- 1/4 cup cream or whole milk shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp white pepper shopping list
- 1 tbs butter shopping list
How to make it
- Peel the waxy skin off the turnips.
- Cut into 1 inch cubes.
- Boil in water for 25 mins (optional, add salt to water).
- Drain.
- Add cream, salt, pepper and butter.
- Mash with hand mixer until smooth.
- Be sure not to overcook the turnips; they will absorb too much water!Optional: Top with crispy shallots - slice thinly and pan fry on medium high heat in 1tsb olive oil and 1 tsb butter for 30 mins.
