How to make it

  • In skillet cook meat and onion seasoned with salts until meat is lightly browned.
  • Reduce heat to simmer
  • Pour on liquid from mushroom can and place fresh portobello right side up over the simmering meat.
  • Loosly cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Prepare a glass baking dish by spraying with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Remove large mushroom caps carefully from hot skillet and place in the backing dish, right side down.
  • Mix canned mushrooms into meat mixture and spoon into mushroom caps.
  • Cover each mushroom with white cheese sliced 1/4 inch thick.
  • Place in oven (325 degrees) until cheese melts and browns slightly.
  • Serve with steak knives for cutting the mushroom steak.
  • Enjoy!
