Chili Stew

- About one lb of sirloin, cubed for stew (your butcher can do this) shopping list
- One can of diced tomatoes and green chilis shopping list
- One can of stewed tomatoes shopping list
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil shopping list
- garlic powder or, if you completely disdain its use, one or two minced cloves of garlic shopping list
- 1/4 tsp five spice powder shopping list
- One small package of frozen corn, or half a large package shopping list
How to make it
- Put the oil in a small stockpot over med/high heat
- Coat the meat with garlic powder, and add it to the pan to brown
- When meat is browned to your satisfaction, add the diced tomato/chilis, the stewed tomatoes, and the frozen corn and five spice powder
- Stir till blended, then simmer over medium heat for about an hour, until meat is tender
